Before the pandemic, we met EVERY SUNDAY at 5 PM. We currently do not provide this service. We shut down during the pandemic and have not brought the Jazz Vespers back yet. We will let the public know when we resume this service.

ABOUT JAZZ VESPERS
Jazz Vespers at Christian Fellowship Congregational Church of San Diego (UCC) is incubating a progressive inclusive spiritual community where the sacred liturgy of the church intersects with jazz, blues, and gospel and develops Christ-centered hope, love, liberation, and resiliency in the lives of its members and the community.
Jazz Vespers is a spiritual community that employs jazz spirituality as a means to develop a progressive, inclusive, justice-seeking Christian community. Biblical Spirituality, creativity, improvisation, diversity, and artistic appreciation are core commitments that inform the creation of every worship experience.
Jazz Vespers began exploration in 2014 and has been lead by Mr. Earl Vaults, the musical curator and director. It has been principally supported by Christian Fellowship Congregational Church of San Diego (United Church of Christ), ecumenical clergy, artists, academicians and advisors from diverse fields who continue to help shaped this emerging community’s mission, vision, purpose and structure.
Jazz Vespers is an intentional urban outreach effort to reach innovative, artistic and nominally religious communities in San Diego, to build a vibrant theologically progressive jazz spiritual community.
